Long Cardi

I absolutely love long cardigans. They are everything to me and my winter wardrobe. This outfit was pretty simple for a simple school day. I'm wearing a long cardigan sweater from H&M which was on sale for $15. A gray tank top from Forever 21 and Joe's jeans paired with my UNIF chunky heeled booties from Urban Outfitters. I went with less accessories for this look because of my mood. Ehhh

It has indeed been a very crazy winter season and with that being said...March needs to hurry hurry hurry! This adorable outfit is a good way to transition into spring. It can be really hard going straight from boots and sweaters to shorts and sandals. But no worries...Stay tuned for more transitional styles from winter to spring!

A simple outfit for a typical work day at The Shoe Hive. I'm wearing a green sweater cardigan from Nordstrom Rack, Joe's Boyfriend jeans, UNIF chunky heel booties and a white tee from H&M. I loved this casual outfit! It was super comfortable and affordable. Just about anyone can pull this outfit off!

Hats, Hats, Hats

Hats, Hats, Hats
The latest trend for the fall/winter was definitely HATS. I have had an obsession with hats for the past few months now and I am excited to add them to my wardrobe for this Spring. My favorite style hats are the floppy hats. I feel that they add that perfect flare to any outfit; casual, chic or business. You could easily pair a fedora or floppy hat (any color) with boyfriend jeans and a white tee or with a flirty dress! They are a great accessory to have in your wardrobe. The past few months I have been scouting out where to find the perfect hats. So far I have found some really stylish and affordable hats at retail stores like Forever 21, Urban Outfitters, H&M, Nordstrom Rack and even Marshalls. I am sure that there are plenty more stores you can find trendy hats for the Spring! This accessory trend is not going out of style any time soon so if you don't already, I suggest you go out and buy the perfect hat or hats for you! Look out Spring 2014, I'm predicting hat fever.

Free People

Today's outfit was definitely one of my favs for the winter. I am all for comfort and cute and this outfit is all of that and then some. This Free People long button up shirt was on sale so of course I had to purchase it. This is my first time wearing it and I loved it. This was an easy chic outfit I threw together within 10 mins for work today. For a "throw on" outfit I think I look pretty put together. It's always good to have that one piece in your wardrobe that can look good with just about anything. Thank you Free People for yet another fabulous purchase!

Nightly Routine

My nightly routine has been the same for the past few months after visiting my dermatologist here in Alexandria. He recommended I use an alcohol free facial wash along with the amazing Epiduo spot treatment. So lets begin....

I have on makeup in the below pictures. A quick insight on my makeup routine: I use Revlon Nearly Naked foundation with SPF along with drug store brand concealer and MAC eye shadow, liquid eyeliner and skin finish powder. I can tell you guys more about my makeup routine upon request!

Step 1: Remove all makeup from my face using makeup wipes. You can find these at any drug store (CVS, Rite Aid, etc.) or any makeup counter. I start this process by gently wiping my eyes, then lashes then my entire face. I also go over my face with another wipe making sure I have removed all the makeup.

Step 2: Taking a warm washcloth, I pat my face to remove any left over makeup. Using my liquid Castile Soap by Ology (I found this at Walgreens for about $9) I wash my face with a washcloth. I try not to use super hot water when washing my face because that can burn your skin and lead to future wrinkles.
Step 3: Once I have pat dried my face (twice), I follow up with my Epiduo spot treatment. I use this on any acne spots or troubled spots on my face. This stuff is amazing. It removes a zit overnight.

So guys that's it! That is my nightly routine. I follow up in the morning with a nice oil free moisturizer to repair my skin from all the chemicals from the night before. I hope this helps you all!

Skin Care

Skin Care
Tonight I will be sharing my skin care and beauty tips on how I keep my skin clean, clear and glowing. These tips are mainly for oily skin. I have struggled with acne and oily skin since middle school so I have learned that  in order to keep my skin healthy, I must follow certain steps and techniques. For my oily skin I must strip away any excess oil which will eliminate acne but still maintain your natural oils. Stay tuned for tonight's fun and simple tips!

RED

I fell in love with this sweater during H&M's big winter sale. I purchased it for $10. Ridiculous right? Anyway, today I had no intentions of being this loud with my clothing but that is how it turned out to be. I toned down the bright red sweater with dark denim and black chunky heels from UNF paired with simple jewelry and a simple Cynthia Rowley handbag. Comfy. Chic and Modern.

Tribal

Spring is near which means it's time to think about what you will be adding to your wardrobe. Tribal prints and prints in general have gradually become a popular trend for the warmer months. I'm not one to mix different prints together but I think I will try this style for the spring. Not to mention my obsession with Floppy Hats and the H&M flirty skirt adds a nice flare to this chic outfit. Dare to go tribal my friends.

Woosah

It's a new year and I have a lot I plan to accomplish for 2014. To begin this journey I must find my inner self and relax my thoughts. This will allow me to focus better and become a better person. Practicing relaxation or meditation is a great way to focus. A useful method to do this is by counting backwards from 10 and exhaling thoroughly. This helps you clear your mind. Personally, my favorite way to relax and meditate is with a hot cup of Black Chai Tea and magazines or catalogs. This allows me to endure every aspect of my thoughts and apply them generously to accomplish my goal. So my words of wisdom to you all today are simply...Stay focused.
