Spring Fever

Spring Fever

I'm having spring fever! I can not stress enough how depressed I am about the weather. April 1 is next Tuesday! Unbelievable. Anyway, I was inspired by the spring season when putting together this fun outfit. Hints the tulips-- my favorite flower! This outfit screams out spring to me. The floral print, the simple colors and natural shades. The floral pants are definitely the statement piece in this outfit. It adds a ton of flare and funk. The white cropped top and white sandals are very simple and elegant pieces that tone down the floral print. A nice white or light colored sleeveless blouse will also work with this outfit for a work day or a casual evening out. I decided to keep the accessories very neutral. The gray Chanel chain purse went perfectly with this outfit! Of course we all can't afford a Chanel bag. No worries, a simple gray clutch or cross body bag will do just the same! Adding a little bit of color is completely fine for something like this and I encourage you to do so. I added a bit of peach on the lips for a fun look. You can never go wrong with a soft lip for the spring. So now that we have the perfect outfit, we just need the perfect weather to go with it. Happy Spring!

Neutral Tones

Hello Everyone! It's been a while since I last posted. I apologize for the delay. No worries, I am back and ready to blog my heart out! Today was a super chill day for me. I had class and a few errands to run so I dressed the part. I have been very depressed because of this sucky weather we have been having! I mean my goodness, its Spring time and there is snow on the ground. It truly makes me want to cry. However, I have decided not to let my wardrobe suffer. With that being said I am slowly transitioning into my spring clothing. Today was super windy and chilly so I wanted to wear something with neutral tones and try to incorporate a springy feel. I refuse to wear riding boots and oversized sweaters anymore! Now on with the outfit details. I am wearing a gray cardigan sweater from H&M, a green cotton tank top from a vintage store, dark denim pants from Forever 21 and Steve Madden flats. My charm bracelets are vintage and my watch is from Pink Accessories. My two necklaces are from The Shoe Hive in Oldtown Alexandria. I absolutely love them both and they are great layering pieces. Side note: I was freezing my butt off during this shoot!

Snow in March

Snow in March

This morning I was so depressed because of the 3 to 6 inches of snow that is headed our way. We're in the third week of March and the weather is STILL not cooperating with our spring fever. Unfortunately, there isn't much we can do about the ridiculous weather but we can still look chic! This outfit is perfect for a March snow day. The key to looking totally chic in such bad weather is to have a perfect piece that makes your outfit. In this case, the piece is most definitely the belted cardigan. This cardigan is very essential in this look because it makes the look interesting.  You don't have to do much else with the rest of the look. I decided to throw on leggings and rain boots paired with a black structured handbag. Super easy and super chic!

Keepin It Simple

Keepin It Simple

Ready for the spring? But not quite there yet? This outfit is an easy way to incorporate that springy look into you wardrobe now. During this weather roller coaster it is so hard to find outfits. I'm sure we are all over the leggings and boots from fall and winter so it's time to change it up a bit. Boyfriend jeans are a great casual chic look for any season but most definitely this transitional season. They are not full coverage for your legs but they will still keep you warm if need be. The loafers and/or flats are also the perfect transitional piece. They add some coverage to your feet but not too much. This way you don't feel restricted or layered in socks and boots. The simple boyfriend tee just adds to this laid back and simple look. I decided to throw the fedora in for fun. It isn't straw (I think its too early for straw hats) but the color and the look of this hat is still very springy and lightweight. This is important if you want to incorporate a hat into your outfit. You have to be sure that it isn't too heavy or light. It has to be the right color, size, weight and shape for this transitional period. If you go down the wrong route you can totally mess up your chic look. This style is very easy but the pieces should be chosen thoughtfully. Love the look? Try it out yourself!

Black and White

Black and White

I don't know about you all but I am totally in love with Topshop at Nordstrom. I have become obsessed with it since day one of its arrival. I recently got a chance to shop at the Nordstrom in Pentagon City Mall. Of course my first stop was Topshop on the 3rd floor. This outfit is inspired by the style, ascetic and overall feel of Topshop. I enjoy fun printed trousers and cropped tops for the spring and summer seasons. Its super easy and totally chic. I decided to do something with black and white tones just to give a different vibe and feel for a springy day. Mostly everyone goes with bright colors for spring but this is a way to incorporate black and white into your spring wardrobe. I would even do this outfit with a colored cropped top and maybe a colored bag but for this sake I stuck with the topic. The key to incorporating black and white into your spring wardrobe is to wear less clothing. For instance, the white and black trousers are a tad bit short which shows more leg. The black platform heels are sandals so again they show more skin. This is an easy way to stay cozy while wearing black and white for the warmer seasons. For accessories you can do a number of things. I would stay away from straw hats with this outfit because it doesn't give off that vibe. I went with a black lightweight floppy hat and a simple black tote bag. The pieces for this outfit is pretty easy to find in stores and the style is very simple. I hope you all found these styling tips helpful! Try it out for yourself!

Springy

Today was indeed beautiful. Unfortunately I spent most of the day indoors at work but none the less I dressed accordingly. I don't know about you all but I am sick of the big sweaters and riding boots. I am ready for printed trousers, pretty blouses, fun flats and open toe heels. Today I decided to pull out my spring trousers from H&M, a cream light weight sweater with my UNIF pointed flats. Side note: I have changed my hair color and cut it! Now I have a super fun and bright color for spring and a super trendy mohawk. Hopefully, spring will arrive soon!
