LUSH Cosmetics: Dark Angels Review

I love a good face scrub and this Dark Angels face and body cleanser is amazing! My skin loves this stuff. I have been using this cleanser for about a month or so now and it has become a staple in my skin care regimen. I was first introduced to LUSH Fresh Handmade Cosmetics about 2 years ago. I did not try any of their products until recently. One Saturday, my mother and I decided to peek into their Pentagon City store. The young ladies there were very helpful in explaining each product and giving their honest opinion on each one. They let me try the products I was interested in and they gave me suggestions as well. The store is great! The employees are wonderful and very knowledgeable about their product. After loads of fun at the store, I decided to purchase a cleanser (which is what I will be reviewing today), a facial and body exfoliant as well as a skin tint/highlighter. I love all of the products I purchased and I use them daily.

Now on to my review. The Dark Angels cleanser is known to get rid of blackheads, purify the skin and shrink the pores. I've had bad acne for quite some time now. I have gotten it under control thanks to my dermatologist in Alexandria, VA but now I have very oily skin, which can be caused by open pores. This is why I chose this cleanser. In order to shrink my pores and control those annoying blackheads I get occasionally. The scrub feels a little gritty when you put it on, like an exfoliant. The directions say to take a pea size amount in the palm of your hand and mix it with a little water. This breaks up the cleanser and makes it feel and look like mud. I leave the scrub on for a minute or two and it begins to harden like a mask. After my first use I could tell the difference of my skin. My skin felt softer and I had this amazing glow! If I had to rate this product out of 10 it would definitely get a 9. I would deduct a point for the cost, it's a little pricey.
But it is a great product after all!

  1. yaaaaaassssssssss! I love how bold you were to post a picture of yourself with no makeup! I haven't gotten too comfortable with myself just yet to take picture au natural. :/

    1. Trust me, I contemplated posting that picture for hours! Although I don't wear much makeup, I like myself much better with makeup on to be honest. But no matter your preference (cake face or au natural) you just have to be confident love.

  2. After using the Lush scrub do you moisturize with a medicated moisturizer or standard moisturizer?

    1. I just use a standard moisturizer. A & D ointment works like a charm. I also love the Shea Moisture face and body lotion/cream. But if you have very sensitive skin I suggest a medicated moisturizer.
